Our Faith

Zion's mission is simple, "To love God and share Christ's love with all people." We believe in the God of Love and Mercy and seek to practice that in our relationships with all people. Amongst many things, we believe that Jesus preeminently came to restore broken relationships and not to create a religion. There is a strong emphasis on service in our congregation, and we provide opportunities for everyone to get involved according to their gifts, experiences, and passion. Pastor Daniel actively encourages our members and friends to discover what their spiritual gifts are using “Understanding Your Spiritual Gifts” by Ronald Ovitt. Whether it is working with local hunger programs in Norwood or going overseas to Africa or Central America, we reach out locally, regionally, and globally in the name of Jesus Christ.

As followers of Jesus, we seek to bring all people into a personal relationship with God who offers us love, forgiveness, hope, and faith in Christ that leads us to eternal life. We believe that this relationship is best lived out in an authentic, Christ-centered community of faith. We affirm that the Bible is divine, authoritative, and inspired by God. “Every part of Scripture is God-breathed and useful one way or another—showing us truth, exposing our rebellion, correcting our mistakes, training us to live God's way. Through the Word we are put together and shaped up for the tasks God has for us” [2 Timothy 3:15-16, The Message Version] . May all people know the deep joy we experience in our ongoing spiritual journey with the Lord.
