A Message of Welcome from Our Pastor

On behalf of the congregation of Zion UCC, I extend to you a warm welcome and an offer of friendship, love, and care. I am Zion Church's Pastor and I began my ministry with the congregation in August 2006. As an ordained minister, I bring 18 years of pastoral experience to this wonderful family of faith.

Zion is an historic church that is excited to begin the next chapter in its life of ministry and mission. I am proud to be called as the Servant-Leader of this outstanding congregation! We are on a journey that has spanned 116 years—and we're just beginning!

Zion Church is not a ‘cookie-cutter' congregation. We explore, we reflect, we consider, we listen, we converse, and we pray! We are joyful, intelligent, inquisitive, imperfect, hardworking, sympathetic, caring, and faithful. We are not into fads, but faith. We are not into ‘pet causes' and ‘pat answers', but God's larger purposes. We celebrate that Jesus—and His Word in the Bible—help us to make sense of life. In a confusing and turbulent world where people experience genuine pain, intense misunderstanding, and a loss of personal identity, we look to Jesus to comfort us, to hold us, and give to us a sense of purpose and destiny. As Pastor of Zion Church, I am happy to offer you ‘life direction and spiritual guidance' through visits, pastoral counselling, prayer, and friendship. We understand that God has placed everyone on a journey and we are careful to respect your spirituality, questions, and struggles about who God is and how we can come to know Him. We seek to hear where you are and to offer ourselves, and our community, in friendship…as a way to enhance and support you—and your family—as you walk through life!

You will always have a very warm welcome at Zion Church…so why not join with us soon for an inspirational time of worship?! Sunday worship is at 10 a.m. and we are ‘kid-friendly'! Sunday School for children is at 10:15 a.m. Nursery and child-care is also provided! Directions to the church are available on this website.
